Position Overview: We are currently seeking a talented Mechanical Designer to join a reputable automation integrator based in Chicago, IL. As a Mechanical Designer, you will be responsible for creating detailed designs and specifications for mechanical components and systems used in automation projects across various industries.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with engineering teams to develop mechanical concepts and designs for automation systems.
• Create 3D models and 2D drawings of mechanical components using CAD software.
• Conduct design reviews and provide feedback to optimize performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
• Generate bills of materials (BOMs) and assist with procurement activities.
• Work closely with suppliers and vendors to ensure the timely delivery of components and materials.
• Support the fabrication, assembly, and testing of mechanical systems during the project lifecycle.
• Adhere to project schedules and budget constraints while maintaining high-quality standards.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or related field.
• Proven experience in mechanical design within the automation industry, preferably with an integrator.
• Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.) for 3D modeling and drafting.
• Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and manufacturing processes.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Prior experience with automation or robotics projects is a plus.
